He smirks a little when Shiro says more people should grovel at his feet before the expression evens out and he says, “Want me to make them?” He could do it. He doesn’t doubt that. And for just a second, he has a very strong urge. But he sits back and shrugs. “Guess it depends on whether you think I’m just a bar kind of date or a dinner kind of date.” Not that he can’t enjoy both. But tonight, there’s a right answer to that query. Shiro tells him to pick though, so he decides to show him what a mistake that is. “Take me some place that has food with names I can’t pronounce.”

For some reason, the reminder that Shiro is hard to discourage has him relaxing. He’s not ready to give up on the idea of them getting along, but if they don’t, maybe Shiro and him can still make it work. Hating his sisters would be a deal breaker, but hating his dad is probably just good taste. He lets his shoulders unknot.

“I don’t know about scarier, but she’s definitely meaner. Actually, if you mess with Karin, Yuzu can get pretty scary too.”

Ichigo blinks when Shiro starts toying with his wallpapers. Since the phone was open, he doesn’t have the heart to tell Shiro that photo was already on that screen, just tastefully cropped so Ichigo wasn’t flashing dick shots every time he pulled it out. The second one has him pausing, mouth flattening. It’s the ugliest bird he’s ever seen. And beady eyed. “You know, feel free to send that one to yourself and make your own phone ugly.” He eyes that bird distastefully, but probably won’t change it. Because two people he likes a lot like it. Which makes him sigh and slide Shiro a semi-indulgent look. “You’re getting awfully comfortable with my phone over there.”

Ichigo says he knows like it’s obvious and Shiro catches on a sound between offense and guilt. It shouldn’t be happening. It definitely shouldn’t be obvious. He was drunk, Ichigo shouldn’t have taken anything he’d said seriously. “I was just drunk and bitching.” He settles on in response, as if it’s some sort of counter argument so the whole thing can be dismissed. “I would'a been fine.” He doesn’t regret his drunk texts, because he can see how that interaction maybe laid the beginnings of what they’re doing now.

He looks over, but Ichigo’s tone is… something he’s not sure what to do with. It’s not casual, it’s not chastising. It’s sort of soft and a lot. He knows exactly what the words means, but not quite how to respond to them. He hesitates a short moment, then swallows and shrugs, and attempts casual anyway. “It’s fine. I told you I’d let you get some school stuff done.”

A brow arches mildly. That doesn’t really clear much up, honestly. But ok. “Oh, right.” He wonders if Ichigo’s talking about his pretty ex girlfriend for a second, but he’s pretty sure that’s not the case.

He’s distracted, but it’s on purpose, which ends up meaning he’s distracted from work and distracted from Ichigo and everything else going on too. He showed up because he basically got bullied into it- though now he wonders if Rukia told him he had to be here because Ichigo showed up without him. And with Shuren, evidently. The line of his mouth thins with a hint of tension that’s broken when he catches the illumination of Ichigo’s phone screen being shown to him. He looks over, then does a little bit of a double take, before grabbing the phone to get a closer look. “What the fuck? How come you didn’t tell me you got friends with fire power? That looks fun as hell, if I had known the family you were supposed to be visiting was gonna blow things up we would'a went.”

I kinda want to know what all the division couches look like now

My co-blogger wrote those tags, but I have two couch screencaps that have been sitting on my desktop since October with nowhere to go, so I'm going to steal this opportunity to share them. XDD

Couches are presently a topic near and dear to my heart, because I have been supposedly buying a couch for almost a year now, and have yet to do so. But it means I've looked at a lot of couches on the Internet, read a lot about couches, and have watched a lot of YouTube videos about buying couches. I've since decided that I'm going to buy my future couch at the furniture store that I pass every day on my way to work. I have never set foot inside it before. I have no idea what kind of couches they offer. But one day I'm going to drive up, buy a couch, and that will be that. I give up.

ANYWAY, based on what I have gained from this haphazard and somewhat grudging research project ( the only thing I have gained, as I still have not bought a couch), here is what I think is the best couch Bleach has to offfer:

FUCKING FIGURES it's Aizen's prison couch!!

Of course it is!!!

But it's a nice color, and the curve of the back introduces a nice break in the angularity of the rest of the space. It looks comfortable and easy to keep clean, with a mid-century modern look that is quite stylish. I seriously considered buying a couch that was very similar to this one, actually, and if I'd known at the time that it would bear resemblance to Aizen's Fucking Prison Couch that may have actually compelled me to go ahead with it. Bleach in the living room all day! But I ultimately didn't because reviewers said the cushion structure broke down too quickly.

First of all, this house is massive. We already knew this from the size of Ichigo's room, but there's a whole sectional in here with ample room to spare! It's got this concrete furniture look to it that I guess people go for (though usually not the same people with warm-toned food floors and doors...) but also these awful 90s dusty rose cushions. The backrest looks comfy but the seat looks like petrified Spam. I hate this couch!

Your request is good enough, I think I got it. 

RELATIONSHIP STAGES WITH ICHIGO:

oh boy, my poor shy ichigo. This is my first ask and also Ichigo is such a hard character to write for me, please be nice! Hope you enjoy. 

. The “hey, I didn’t notice you were so datable” stage or known as “the falling in love stage”: Ichigo is above all things a person who cares deeply for the ones he loves. So I imagine he wouldn’t fall in love with a total stranger that he saw across Karakura’s cafe, doesn’t matter how beautiful they are. He would probably fall in for someone that is already in his most intimate circle of friends. That being said, I think there’s a previous stage to this and it would be becoming his friend or someone he cares about. Only after being friends for a long time and getting to know each other, especially Ichigo getting to TRUST them, it would come a time where he would get himself thinking more than the usual about the s/o and in ways he doesn’t think about his others friends. Like, did anyone notice how beautiful their smile is? Or why is he suddenly so ashamed and awkward around them? And *OMG*, why is he having a boner after seeing them in that revealing outfit? It would take a while for him to act about it, probably asking them out on a date but trying to come off as a casual gathering between two friends or pretending to invite everyone but no one really shows up because whatever reason he invented. If the s/o acts thru all this in a way that Ichigo feels wanted, cared and safe to open up about his feelings, he will definitely move on to the next stage. 

. The “we’re so in love” stage: After Ichigo having to deal with almost EVERY of his insecurities surfacing in the previous stage, he would act a lot more caring towards his s/o, acting compassionate and sweet, and showing his emotional side a lot more. His s/o can expect a lot of small gifts and romantic dates - his s/o will never be bored  and he will never forget a special date, like birthday, holidays, their anniversary: he’s got anything covered. Also, a lot of making love! See, for Ichigo, sex cannot be detached from feelings, so for him, everytime they have sex is like saying “I love you” in a very intense way. He will tend to overlook their s/o flaws in this stage which might blow up in the next stage. 

. The landing stage: Being “in love”, high in the addicting hormones our brain releases, does not last forever. So, unfortunately, this is a “blowing up” or a “I REALLY love you” stage. This is a stage of confrontation between the two to figure out whether or not real love can blossom from the relationship. Ichigo will evaluate if the relationship is evolving to something that makes him feel confortable, loved and safe or if it’s starting to get a pain in the ass. For him, being as honest as he can be, this is the stage the he’s most likely to break up with someone. But if they really care about each other and try to make it work, even if it’s not perfect, he will surely appreciate the effort and hold on just a little more. 

. The everyday life stage: For most people, these would be a “boring” stage, where you two are arguing about who’s washing the dishes or how Isshin walked in on them having sex or Karin dating Hitsugaya (hahahaha jk). But for ichigo this is a happy stage, as he feels deeply connected with his s/o. He wouldn’t be with a person in this stage if he wasn’t completely sure that they love each other and would probably ask them to move in together or even propose. He might also try to bring back the sparks of the first phase by surprising his s/o with unexpected gifts and very classy dates on romantic restaurants. 

. The “I want you forever” stage: The final stage. If he haven’t proposed yet, this is the time. He is sure that he wants to spend the rest of his life with his s/o. He sees little kids walking down the street or riding their bikes and keep thinking when you two are going to have one of your own. He sees houses being build or for sale and imagines you two living there, settling on what furniture to buy and whether to get a dog or a cat or a yoruichi. They might even be married at this point and in the way of having kids, or have kids already, but he would sometimes haver this feeling when looking at his s/o and thinking “I’m so lucky. I want this to last... forever”. So he knows. They love each other. And he wants to be with them for the rest of his days.
